Monica G. Sakala, Founder & CEO of SOMA Strategies, has more than 20 years of experience working on beltway public affairs and public relations campaigns. She earned an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University, and in 2004, initiated the first blogging advertising paid campaign by any D.C.-based trade association. She proudly adopted Twitter as a communications tool before most people inside the Beltway even knew the word “tweet.” Monica is proud that her business is female-owned and led, and likes to provide an example of entrepreneurship for her two daughters and other young women.
